What is CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs foster a mutually beneficial relationship between you (the consumer) + us (the farmers)! Its roots trace back to the 1970's and a man named Booker T. Whatley, a Black farmer, educator, and innovator. Whatley founded and promoted the CSA model as a way to financially uplift Black farmers. We are grateful for his innovation and legacy, which continues to uplift small scale local agriculture & farm workers.
In the CSA model, members pay an up-front cost at the beginning of the season, which allows the farmers to purchase seeds, potting soil, tools, and other necessary materials. In return, members receive a weekly abundance of fresh produce throughout the season, harvested fresh from the field. Community members invest in the farm and the farmers, and they receive the rewards of farming: 7 foot tall tomatoes, blooming marigolds and sunflowers, rows of sweet strawberries, jars of seasonal honey, bunches of just-picked herbs...
Our farmers are stewards of the land. We use regenerative practices that sequester carbon, rebuild soil health, and increase biodiversity. Farming organically and regeneratively requires much careful planning, tons of hard labor, ever-growing skilled knowledge, and a heap of significant financial investment. As a result, our prices reflect the true cost of food that’s grown with regard for the earth, but without the added costs from the middleman.
Our 2025 CSA Share offers our members all the benefits of our traditional CSA program (pre-packed boxes, farmer chooses the items) with more flexibility, freedom, and choice! GWMG uses a market-style CSA, which means you can shop the same as you do at a grocery store, but because you're a CSA member, you already have an account filled with funds, so you don't have to worry about payment the day of market whatsoever.

CSA Details
CSA runs from June 3 - October 28. You can go ahead and mark your calendar! Every Tuesday from 4-7 pm, our farm stand will be set up for you, friends, and family to come shop the seasonal harvest!
If you cannot make a farm stand, that's ok! You are not expected to be at every farm stand, although we do recommend it; you already paid for a whole season! However, if you are out of town or unable to come to the farm stand, you can send someone in your place, and with your permission, we'll use your CSA account for their payment. If you want to split a CSA share with someone for the entire season, make sure to:
We offer three CSA share sizes to best fit your needs, household size, and budget.
Okay, so what to do now? Here's what you have to do:
That's all! We'll keep your account balance updated throughout the season, so that you don't have to stress about crunching numbers. If you ever need an update on how much you have, just ask the farmer working the market that day.
